I’m graduating with a BA in Business Economics within the upcoming year. I was originally pursuing Accounting but lately I am having doubts about whether or not Accounting is something I want to be doing. Would anyone be able to name some other entry-level business jobs that I can look into?

There are a few directions you could go based on your ultimate career, but ultimately, your widest pool of options will be in sales or customer service to get your foot in the door. You could start with a great title like “credit specialist” or “account manager,” or “risk specialist.”
This is a great means of getting started in a company and develop business communication styles and business acumen. My only piece of advice is to work towards your ultimate goal (whether it is in investments, mortgage, or marketing) as soon as you figure out what that is. It is much easier to make a change in your career when you are making $ 25k to $ 30k than when you are making double or triple that and want to do something different.

personal banker if you have good sales skills, since any bank you work for will insist you cross-sell products & services. perhaps something in their backroom operations.

In most cases, you’ll need a college degree to get started. Entry level accounting jobs don’t necessarily need a CPA, but to advance you’ll need one. In the financial services sector, increasingly firms are hiring people with diverse academic backgrounds, including liberal arts, engineering, etc. If you have a non-business academic background, definitely read up on the industry and companies.
Most major firms have an application process via their websites. You can also find a headhunter in major cities to service both sectors. But they may only take you if you already have some experience.
If you’re struggling to find full time work, I’d suggest connecting up with a temp agency. They can place you in temp-to-perm positions, which can often work out well.

I want to get a master’s degree in Accounting. How much can I expect to make starting out in a large city like Richmond, VA? Also, will any of these jobs pay for me to get my masters in accounting?

With a master’s degree you shoulkd start out making $ 30,000 minimum, probably more like $ 40,000. Accountants fresh out of four year universities with bachelor’s degrees make $ 25,000-$ 30,000.

I graduated in April and am not having any luck finding a job that doesnt require at least 2 yrs experience. I have been doing an unpaid internship for a local transcription company for experience and Id like to be paid for it. I am certified and have all the education and training needed. Just not the experience. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

It’s next to impossible to get an entry-level, at home job in medical transcription, and the websites that promise them are scams.
There are people doing this work at home, but they pretty much always have prior experience of at least a couple years in a medical office or facility.
Apply to medical facilities in your area.

I am currently a Border Patrol agent, I think they are the only people hiring. I would like a second choice since I am about to get married and need to care for my wife. I seriously cant seem to get taken seriously for any other job. I have my Masters and some HR experience aside from Border Patrol experience.
Anyway, any entry level government jobs that are seriously hiring? Anyone know?
I think some of these are so competitive its like buying a lottery ticket to apply
